Summer Randoms

Busy, busy, busy...that's how summer's been in our household.  No wonder it seems to be flying!  Not that I'm complaining.  God is gracious to allow us these enjoyments during the long summer days.  Just a taste of the things we've been up to.

Swimming, of course.

Somebody got their orange belt!

Hanging out with friends.
Don't you just love summer!!!

Peace, Love & Crabs

Along with the Bonifacios, we had the joy of dining with some dear friends from Hawaii who returned to the mainland for a visit.  Angeli and Jay are so dear to us, because they were responsible for bringing Billy and I to the Lord.  For that, we will be eternally grateful!

It was Jay's idea to try Joe's Crab Shack. Good choice!

Getting ready to grub!

Serving for one!

Grubbidy,

Daddy and Me Project #1

The hubby and I had discussed having him and the little guy work on a few hands-on school projects during the summer.  You know, things that I just didn't get around to doing during the busy school year.  I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone--bonding time for the boys as well as the chance for dad to participate in son's education.  Here they are at the beginning of their volcano project.  They had just finished making the mold.  Next, comes painting and then the highlight of project--the big lava eruption!!!

Did somebody say oysters?

It's been a while since we did anything spontaneous as a family, but when some friends invited us to the beach for barbecued oysters, who could resist?! For those of you who have ever been to Drake's Beach, the weather was remarkably fabulous, sunny and temperate.  The boys had a blast--both the big ones and the little ones!  While the ladies reveled in the beauty and relaxed atmosphere of a perfect summer day.

Junior totally made these tourists' (from Holland) so happy when he generously offered them some oysters!

The Lawrence Hall of Science

Just because it's summer doesn't mean the learning has to stop! Thanks to some friends, Andre and I got to enjoy some new sights and experiences at a museum none of us had ever been to before.  Check out that view...

The Bay Bridge, Golden Gate and Richmond-San Rafael Bridges were visible from up here.

We came specifically for the dino exhibit.

Digging for fossils!

Oh no! It's a T-Rex! This thing actually moved and roared!

Boys like cars...
Hmm, let's see...F=ma

His face looks like that because he just knocked down a tall tower!
