Another Blessed Christmas

Every Christmas I start by saying how fast each one seems to pass by...and now, here we are near the end of yet another one!  At times I can't help feeling a sense of panic, but on the other hand it is a necessary reminder of the brevity of life, which compels me to stop and take the time to enjoy the pauses between the frenetic activities of the season.  It is something I have to actively do, since it is so easy to get carried away with busyness that in the end amounts to nothing.  Our Christmases are always fun, but more importantly, we strive to make it meaningful, never ceasing to remind our son why it is we are able to celebrate so joyfully.  Jesus Christ came to earth, bringing hope to all of mankind.  There is no greater gift than this!  So here we are again, rejoicing in the Savior's birth.  Merry Christmas!!!

The Magi's Gifts

In light of the Christmas season, Andre and I were discussing the birth of Jesus and I asked him a few questions.  One of them was: "What three gifts did the wise men bring Jesus?"  His answer, "Gold, Frank and murder." LOL!!!

Christmas Lights

There is a neighborhood in a nearby town that possesses an expansive Christmas light display.  It's called Candy Cane Lane, but it is really two long blocks of homes that every year participate to spread holiday cheer.  People from surrounding towns make a trip just to drive down the blocks, while others--like us--stroll up and down the sidewalk to take a closer look.  Andre enjoyed the different displays, while I had fun playing around with my camera.

A lady was kind enough to offer to take our picture.  Little did I know she had an ulterior motive.  Afterwards, she said, "I have the exact same camera."  Then she asked me what setting I was using to take my night shots.  ;)

Beautiful & Blue Tahoe

Night Lights

Snow Hunt

Tahoe was pretty dry snow-wise, so on our way back, we told Andre we'd go on a snow hunt!  The higher we got on the Sierras, the more snow we spotted.  We turned off on the road that leads to Sierra-at-Tahoe and found a little clearing with a suitable amount of snow.  Andre was in heaven!!

 "Look, snow!"

"Pinch me, I must be dreaming." :)

Snow

What a novel idea...

The Tree Farm

I realize this is a bit backwards as I've already posted photos of our tree, but I wanted to be sure to record our first trip to Silveyville this year.
