Classical Conversations~Cycle 2

So here we are at the end of another year with Classical Conversations.  The past few months have been a fast and furious exercise in learning, memorizing and retaining large quantities of information.  But this year was significantly different from the last, because this year I was a tutor for one of the 3rd-4th grade classes.  And what a class it was!  Let me just say that it is a very humbling experience to be in charge of a class where your own son is a student.  Still, it was a joy and privilege to tutor these children, especially as I got to learn alongside them.

The photos below are the "yearbook" pictures of my Cycle 2 class.  Because I used my iPhone, the quality is not that great.  Otherwise you would be able to read their certificates--from "Most likely to cure cancer" to "Most likely to win an Olympic medal" to "Most likely to become a comedian."  Now that the program is over, I will miss these very bright and enganging students.

This year, all of Andre's hard work paid off as he achieved the title of Memory Master.  We are very proud of his accomplishment, reminding him that he was able to achieve it because God blessed him with a mind which he was willing to challenge.  It was also a good lesson in showing him the value of hard work and discipline.  I hope and pray this valuable lesson will translate to other areas of his life!
