For Billy's birthday, we had the privilege to take a weekend away to celebrate. We headed across the country to Michigan to see our close friends, Patrick and Michelle. It is always a treat to visit Lavender Hill (Michelle's quaint home), as you can expect to be treated to first-class service befitting a top-notch bed-and-breakfast! Our flight arrived past ten o'clock, and this is what greeted us for dinner....
The following day, after a leisurely breakfast, we were surprised to discover that Michelle had coordinated private lessons from a bona fide French pastry chef! She had the accent to authenticate it! Cecilia taught us the fine art of making (drum-roll, please!) macarons!! If you know us, we love these delicate French treats and were ecstatic to be given instructions on how to produce them.
